We’ve been in personal challenge mode around here. My beau was feeling a little down, a little lethargic, a little like he needed a kick in the pants. So he signed up for the Portland Triathlon. Now, despite being a couch potato for about twenty years, I’ve taken on a few physical challenges in the last couple of years, including mountain climbing and learning to swim. But, with the just learning to swim and the not running unless I’m being chased, I’m not exactly triathlon material.
I also pushed some of my other non-physical fear buttons. But none of these things are giving me the challenge I’m really looking for.
But then I realized the real challenge. Being me in my business. You know, taking off the “I have to be a professional” hat for good. I figured out I can’t do it on my own though. Earlier this year I hung out with Mark Silver and a dozen other amazing people in his Opening the Moneyflow course. If you’ve spent any time with me here, you’ve probably noticed some changes in the site. These evolved through the guidance of Mark.
Now, I’m going to take the next step with two amazing women who are TOTALLY THEMSELVES in their businesses, Havi Brooks at The Fluent Self and Naomi Dunford from IttyBiz.
And maybe I’ll learn guitar.
Shannon, Havi and Naomi’s course looks wonderful! Good for you for accepting this excellent challenge. I’ll look forward to updates.
Rock on! Also, yay to the possibility of learning guitar.
Naomi and I are so excited to have you on board. And taking on the “being me” challenge is HUGE.
Partly because ack, it’s terrifying. And partly because so few people do it. Everyone says be your authentic self, blah blah blah, but who wants to actually do it? Scary. So hooray for you for even considering it and taking steps to figure it all out.
Living by example: it’s the sexiest thing there is.
She always gets here first. She waltzes in, she brings her trampy little duck, and she sets the room ablaze with her peppiness. Ugh.
But yeah, SUPER stoked you’re coming out to play. Havi and Selma are right — being yourself is super sexy. Even sexier than playing the guitar, which is difficult to believe, but true.
As soon as I get off these conference calls, I’m looking into this. 40 is around the corner…and I like the idea of being my sexy self. (as well as contorting my body out of this chair).
