This is one of those weeks that has a lot of moving parts and is very tightly scheduled. Thing A has to happen in time for Thing C but not before Thing B. The kind of stuff that if one thing gets out of whack, there’s the potential for it all falling apart.
At least that’s how it seemed.
And then one thing did get out of whack, me.
I was helping out a friend yesterday afternoon and tangled with the yard debris roll cart. It was this crazy combination of things that all happened in a split second, and didn’t end well.
Turns out plastic is quite hard if you hit it with enough velocity! A cut, concussion, whiplash, a few random bruises and a wicked black eye are the result.
It could have been much worse though. No stitches, nothing broken, it will all heal just fine with time.
But speaking of time, I don’t have time for this!
Remember the tightly scheduled week?
All out the window.
I’ve quickly had to revisit my priorities. And remind myself of my number one priority, me.
It’s hard to put everyone and everything else to the side, but not impossible.
When I really look at my week, there is very little that ABSOLUTELY must happen. And the things that do, I can fit in between my doctor ordered rest schedule.
The other thing I’m getting a lot of practice with now, is accepting and asking for help. Remembering to bring my stick to a person who can throw it helps.
So much to be grateful for.
The final thing this little incident is bringing to my attention, is how much I have to be grateful for in my life. My friend who dropped everything to take me to urgent care. Decent health insurance. Friends and family to help and check in on me. Understanding clients.
