My cousin and his wife are in town to take their daughter to college. They had some free time today in between attending campus activities and buying dorm room necessities at Target. So we headed out to the Columbia River Gorge.
It was a nice change of pace.
We saw awesome waterfalls and beautiful creeks; sweet little wild flowers and plump delicious huckleberries. We even spied some of the elusive Devil’s Rest gnomes. They were hiding in all kinds of nooks and crannies.
It was a great way to get out of the city, catch up with each other, reminisce about our grandparents and other family members, move after their long hours in the car and mine behind a computer.
When’s the last time you shifted your perspective?
Get out from behind the computer. See something different, even if it’s just looking at your own neighborhood with different eyes. Take some time to stop and smell the roses eat the huckleberries.
Tell me what you see.
And what you smell. What you touch and taste and sense and daydream about.
